Hazard's Ale

[ back to Aussie Beer Guide ]

Cascade Brewery located in Hobart TasmaniaHazard's Ale (was once) Tasmania's only traditional ale, made by Tasmania's (once) smallest brewing company. The beer is named after the small mountain range on the Freycinet Peninsula in the Freycinet National Park, over looking Wineglass Bay. It is brewed in the Ale style, from Tasmanian malted barley, local hops & water and yeast (at least it once was, it is now brewed in Sydney). The brewing is done in accordance with the 'German Purity Law' where only malt, hops, water and yeast can be used in the production of beer. Therefore there are no additives or preservatives, it is bottle conditioned and is not pasteurised or filters.
