You should never travel without some sort of travel insurance. If you are not convinced, here are ten important reasons why you should consider getting travel insurance:

  1. Protect against trip cancellations or interruptions: Travel insurance can provide reimbursement for non-refundable travel expenses in case your trip gets canceled or cut short due to unforeseen circumstances such as a natural disaster, illness, injury, or death in the family.
  2. Cancellation coverage: Travel insurance can provide reimbursement for non-refundable airfares and other transport tickets in the case of cancellation or delay for a covered reason.
  3. Lost or stolen baggage coverage: Losing your bags, or having them delayed, is quite common. Travel insurance can provide coverage for lost or stolen baggage and personal belongings, including reimbursement for the value of the lost items. Make sure you have receipts for things you buy.
  4. Trip delay coverage: If you are delayed due to flights and lost luggage, travel insurance can provide coverage for additional expenses incurred, such as the extra night in a hotel, and even meal and transportation that are required.
  5. Emergency assistance services: Don't know what to do? There is no need to worry, as travel insurance often includes emergency assistance services, such as 24-hour hot-line support for medical, travel, or legal emergencies.
  6. Personal liability coverage: Travel insurance can provide coverage in case you cause injury or damage to someone else's property while traveling.
  7. Extreme sports coverage: Do you want to have some extreme fun when traveling? Not all policies cover extreme sports and activities, so look for one that does, even if you might just ride on the back of a motorbike or do some tobogganing.
  8. Pre-existing medical conditions coverage: Already unwell? You can still travel with peace of mind. Some travel insurance policies can provide coverage for pre-existing medical conditions, as long as the condition is stable and controlled.
  9. Cover for the worst-case scenarios: You don't want to consider it, but you may get seriously injured or ill while traveling. Emergency medical coverage can cover medical expenses incurred while traveling, including emergency medical evacuation and repatriation.
  10. Peace of mind: Having travel insurance can give you peace of mind and allow you to enjoy your trip without worrying about what might happen if something goes wrong.

Note: It's important to carefully read and understand the terms and conditions of any travel insurance policy you are considering to make sure it meets your needs and provides adequate coverage.
