Dumbleyung is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 257km south-east of Perth and 40km west of Wagin.
The town is famous for an event that took place on Lake Dumbleyung in December 1964 - Donald Campbell set the world water speed record of 276.3 mph or 444.66km/h.
Things to do and places to see
- visit Lake Dumbleyung, the largest permanent stretch of natural water in WA and an important wildlife sanctuary. There is a memorial to Donald Campbell here, up on Pussy Cat Hill.
