Hiking Checklist

If you are planning on going for a hike, you should consider taking the following items:
- 1 litre of water per person per hour of hiking (this will depend on the level of track difficulty and weather conditions, and wether water will be available along the way)
- Sturdy walking shoes
- Sun hat
- Sunglasses, sunscreen (30+) and insect repellent
- Binoculars
- Camera
- Map or guide book where suggested
- Snacks and/or lunch depending on length of trail
- Clothes to suit the activity and potential weather conditions including
a water/windproof jacket
- Spray bottle of methylated spirits to spray boots in disease
risk areas
- First Aid kit
